床前明月光, Chuáng qián míng yuè guāng,
疑是地上霜。 Yí shì dì shàng shuāng.
举头望明月, Jǔ tóu wàng míng yuè ,
低头思故乡。 Dī tóu sī gù xiāng.
Annotation:
1. 静夜 jìng yè (silent night) 思 sī (deep thinking, missing), 唐朝 tángcháo (Tang Dynasty), 床前 chuáng qián (before my bed or another explanation as the fence of a well), 明月光 míng yuè guāng (beautiful moonlight), 疑是 yí shì (doubt), 地上 dì shàng (on the ground), 霜 shuāng (dew), 举头 jǔ tóu (raise my head), 望 wàng (look up, stare at), 低头 dī tóu (to bow or hang my head), 故乡 gù xiāng (one’s hometown)
2. Li Bay 李白 (701-762 AC), one of famous romantic poets in Tang dynasty, vividly described in this poem, the psychological procedure of a traveler far away home who felt strongly homesick.

1. yǒng 咏 (to sing or intone), é 鹅 (goose), qū 曲 (bended), xiàng 项 (nape, neck), xiàng 向 (to face), tiān 天 (sky), gē 歌 (to sing), bái 白 (white), máo 毛 (feather), fú 浮 (to float), lǜ 绿 (green and clear), shuǐ 水 (water), hóng 红 (red), zhǎng 掌 (foot, palm), bō 拨 (to pull, row or stir), qīng 清 (clear), bō 波 (wave)
2. It is said that the poet Luo Bin-wang 骆宾王 (626-684 AC) wrote this poem at the age of seven. This vivid poem describing goose has become a famous children’s song for generations of Chinese.
