Let me tell you what problems are in the above sentences. 1. the quantifier for 孩子书 is 本 not 个. 一本书。 2.这本书字不多。or 这本书很少字， which would be more colloquial . 3." in Chinese" should say " 用中文写的" or “ 用汉语写的" ,which should be put before what they are modifying . 4. 我想这本书一定很有意思，而且还能帮助新同学呢。 5. What do you think ? 你觉得怎样？or 你认为怎样？ which means to ask for suggestions or opinions from the other side. 你想什么？means why you are still thinking .
The primary problem is beginners would be easily influenced by what they have just learned . Don't worry, keep going , but you would have more senses after you have read a whole text book than just a few pages of it .
