C. Notes:

1. In Chinese syllables, initials “j, q, x” are not equivalent to their English alphabets. So special attention should be paid in order not to be confused.

2. When a third-tone syllable followed by another third-tone syllable, the former should be pronounced as a rising tone (second tone) . If there are three successive three-tone syllables , the first two syllables should be changed into second-tone ones. Generally, the tone marks might not change.
e.g. Nǐ hǎo — Ní hǎo 你好。(How do you do ?)
Wǒ xiǎng mǎi — Wó xiáng mǎi . 我想买。( I want to buy it.)
